How kardia compares

kardia is built for European teams that need German labor law compliance out of the box — at a price that works for small businesses.

💡

Flat price — not per user. kardia PRO is a flat €29/month for your whole team — or €19/month billed yearly — not €X per user. The price stays the same whether you have 5 or 100 people.

Terms used on this page

Short definitions for terms that come up when comparing German shift-planning and time-tracking tools.

Arbeitszeiterfassung
Mandatory recording of working time in Germany. Following the BAG ruling of September 2022 and the BMAS draft of 2023, employers must record the start, end and duration of every working day. kardia is built around this requirement — clock-in/out, audit logs and CSV exports are designed for ArbZG-compliant records.
ArbZG (Arbeitszeitgesetz)
The German Working Hours Act. Defines maximum daily working time (8h standard, 10h cap), the minimum 11-hour rest period between shifts, and required break durations (30 min after 6h worked, 45 min after 9h). kardia enforces these rules automatically on every plan, including FREE.
Schichtplanung vs. Dienstplan
Both terms mean shift planning. 'Dienstplan' is more common in medical practices, care, and fire/rescue contexts; 'Schichtplan' is more common in retail, hospitality, and industry. kardia supports both naming conventions across templates and exports.
Pauschalpreis vs. per-user pricing
kardia PRO is a flat company price (Pauschalpreis): €29 per month for the entire team, or €19 per month billed yearly. Most competitors charge per user — for a 15-person team that typically means €60–150 per month, scaling with every hire.
